A few helpful answers

Estate sale questions, answered.

What is estate liquidation?

Household estate liquidation is the process of selling a home’s belongings when a family is settling an estate, downsizing, moving, or clearing a home. An estate sale is one way to do that. Sagebrush sorts, researches, prices, stages, advertises, and manages the sale, then provides accounting and an agreed plan for remaining items. We handle household contents; we do not sell the real estate or provide legal estate administration.

Can you help if I live outside Idaho?

Tell us where the home is, your role in the estate or household decisions, and your timeline. We can discuss how to coordinate the preparation, family keepsakes, sale, and final accounting while keeping you informed. Authority to approve the sale and any access arrangements are established before work begins.

How do consultations outside the Treasure Valley work?

Share the property’s city and your timeline in the consultation request. We travel throughout Idaho, and we’ll discuss availability, the preparation needed, travel arrangements, and any additional costs before you decide to move forward. The agreed scope and fees are set out in a written proposal.

Is an estate sale right for my situation?

Estate sales can help when you’re settling a loved one’s estate, downsizing, moving, or clearing a home. During a free home consultation, we look at the contents, your timeline, and the property to see whether a sale is a good fit.

Should I clean out the house before you visit?

Please don’t throw away or donate sale items before we meet. Everyday belongings can have value, too. Set aside personal papers, medications, and anything your family plans to keep. We’ll help you sort out the rest.

Can our family keep some of the belongings?

Of course. You decide what stays with your family. Before sale preparation begins, we’ll identify what is excluded from the sale so everyone is working from the same plan.

How much does an estate sale cost?

Each home is different. After the walkthrough, we provide a written proposal explaining our fees, what’s included, and any additional services. You’ll know the terms before work begins.

How long does the process take?

Timing depends on the home’s contents, the preparation needed, and available sale dates. We’ll discuss your deadline at the consultation and agree on a schedule before getting started.

What happens to items that don’t sell?

We agree with you on a plan for remaining items, which may include keeping them, donation, or hauling. Any additional services and costs are discussed with you before they’re arranged.

Do you handle estate sales outside Boise?
